A Fort Collins engineer has created a device called the “Social Stick,” which aims to help people practice social distancing.

The 6-foot instrument helps people know they are staying 6 feet away from each other.

R.T. Custer is the inventor. He says he recently came up with the idea after a conversation with friends.

“Maybe this is just a funny gift for a friend,” says Custer. “But it’s cool and practical too.”

The concept is gaining attention.

Custer says he is in “conversations” with retail stores and government entities.

Tim will join co-host Teri and together they will bring their infectious personalities and humor in a move to shake up and re-energize Cayman’s favorite radio station, Z99. 

“We are excited to welcome Tim to the team,” said Mark Lee, Radio Announcer. “He brings with him to the role a wealth of knowledge and skills which will enhance and complement Z99’s position as the best station in Cayman.”

Tim started in radio in his home state of Ohio and has spent most of his career working in Las Vegas with a brief stint in St. Louis before deciding to adventure to the Middle East.

Since 2013, he has been working as a radio host in Jordan and in the UAE predominantly on the Tim and Faris show which started in Amman and moved to Dubai in 2017.

“When the opportunity to host the Z99 Morning Show presented itself, along with the laidback lifestyle and Caribbean beaches, the choice was easy,” said Tim Hartman.

Tim looks forward to mentoring and teaching up and coming Caymanian talent in his role and getting to know more about Cayman culture as he settles into his new home.

Every time Miguel Wattson the electric eel releases a jolt of electricity, a festively-decorated Christmas tree next to his tank at the Tennessee Aquarium flickers and glows.

"There is a sensor directly in his exhibit that picks up when he produces electricity," Aquarist Kimberly Hurt, who cares for the electric eel, tells NPR.

The aquarium had already connected the sensor to a soundboard and a light board to correspond with Wattson's bursts, says Hurt. "It'll light up the board. It also does make some noise so people can hear when he's producing electricity."

So it wasn't a huge leap to also have Wattson's sensors connected to a Christmas tree, for a seasonal spin on the display.

It's the act of giving someone your phone number only to ignore them when they reach out. Sixty percent of singles have experienced someone giving them their phone number only to have their text ignored when reaching out; 35% of singles admit to doing this to someone as well.
• Eclipsing (/ih-klips-ing/): Adopting the interests or hobbies of someone you're dating and pretending you like them too. Nearly half of singles (48%) have experienced dating someone who adopted all the same interests/hobbies as them, with 45% of singles admitting to having done this in the past.
• Glamboozled (/glam-boo-zuh l'd/): Getting fully done up for a date only to have them cancel or your plans fall through at the last minute; 58% of singles have experienced this.
• Kanye'd (/kon-yey'd/): When your date spends the entire time talking about themselves; 45% of singles have endured a one-sided conversation while on a date.
• Type-casting (/tahyp kas-ting/): Exclusively dating people based on Myers-Briggs Type or "Love Language" compatibility; 27% of singles know someone who has talked about their Myers Briggs or Love Language on a date.
• White Clawing (/hwahyt-klaw-ing/): The act of staying with someone who you find basic and boring only because you find them attractive. Over a quarter of singles (27%) admit to having done this; 42% say they know someone who has done this.
• Yellow Carding (/yel-oh kahrd-ing/): When someone is called out on their poor dating behavior; 27% of singles have confronted a date for their bad behavior.

This week, Kellogg’s dropped the very limited edition “All Together” cereal, which fuses the flavors of Fruit Loops, Rice Krispies, Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes, and Frosted Mini Wheats into a single special package.
